Straighten your smile discreetly with virtually invisible aligners that fit seamlessly into your life—no metal, no restrictions, just beautiful results.

What is Invisalign® Treatment?

Invisalign® is an innovative orthodontic system that uses a series of custom-made, clear plastic aligners to gradually straighten teeth without traditional metal brackets and wires. Each aligner is designed using advanced 3D imaging technology to move your teeth in precise, controlled increments. You wear each set for about two weeks before progressing to the next, with each aligner making small adjustments that collectively create a significant transformation. The aligners are removable, allowing you to eat, drink, brush, and floss normally—making Invisalign® one of the most convenient orthodontic options available.

At The Dental Edition, Dr. Samawi brings specialized expertise to Invisalign® treatment as a certified provider with extensive training in clear aligner therapy. She uses iTero® 3D scanning technology—eliminating uncomfortable traditional impressions while creating incredibly precise digital models of your teeth. This technology allows Dr. Samawi to map your entire treatment journey before you begin, showing you a preview of how your teeth will move and what your final smile will look like. Our spa-inspired environment, flexible scheduling, and patient-centered approach make orthodontic treatment feel less like a burden and more like an investment in yourself that fits comfortably into your busy life.

Why Implants Are the Superior Choice

Virtually Invisible Appearance: The clear aligners are so discreet that most people won’t notice you’re wearing them. This makes Invisalign® ideal for adults and teens who want to improve their smiles without the self-consciousness often associated with traditional metal braces.

Removable Convenience: Unlike fixed braces, you can remove your aligners for eating, drinking, and special occasions. This means no dietary restrictions—enjoy steak, apples, popcorn, and anything else you want without worry. Simply remove your aligners, eat normally, brush your teeth, and replace them.

Comfortable Treatment Experience: The smooth plastic aligners have no metal brackets or wires to irritate your cheeks and gums. You may experience mild pressure when starting a new set of aligners, but this typically subsides within a day or two and indicates your treatment is working.

Easier Oral Hygiene: Removing your aligners for brushing and flossing means you can maintain your normal oral hygiene routine. No special tools are needed to clean around brackets and wires—simply brush and floss as usual, then replace your aligners.

Fewer Office Visits: Invisalign® requires periodic checkups every 6-8 weeks rather than the monthly adjustments needed with traditional braces. These quick appointments—typically 15-20 minutes—fit easily into busy schedules, and our flexible hours accommodate working professionals and students.

Your Invisalign® Journey at The Dental Edition

Step 1: Comprehensive Evaluation & Digital Scanning
Your Invisalign® journey begins with a thorough consultation where Dr. Samawi evaluates your teeth and bite, discusses your alignment goals, and determines whether clear aligner therapy is right for your case. We’ll use our iTero® digital scanner to capture detailed 3D images of your teeth—a comfortable process that takes just minutes and eliminates messy traditional impressions.

Step 2: Custom Treatment Planning & Visualization
Using your digital scans, Dr. Samawi creates your personalized treatment plan with Invisalign®’s ClinCheck® software. This sophisticated program maps the precise movements your teeth will make throughout treatment. You’ll see a computer animation showing your teeth’s journey from their current positions to their final, beautifully aligned result—giving you confidence and excitement about what’s ahead.

Step 3: Aligner Fabrication & Treatment Begins
Your complete series of custom aligners is fabricated using advanced 3D printing technology. Once ready, you’ll return to receive your first several sets of aligners along with detailed instructions. Dr. Samawi will explain how to wear, remove, and care for your aligners, and may place small tooth-colored attachments on certain teeth to help guide movement.

Step 4: Treatment Progress & Monitoring
You’ll wear your aligners 20-22 hours daily, removing them only for eating, drinking anything other than water, and oral hygiene. Every two weeks, you’ll progress to your next set of aligners. You’ll visit our office every 6-8 weeks for quick progress checks—appointments that typically last just 15-20 minutes and ensure your treatment is progressing as planned.

Step 5: Completion & Retention
Once you’ve completed your aligner series and achieved your beautiful, straight smile, you’ll transition to retainers to maintain your results. Initially worn full-time, retainers eventually shift to nighttime-only wear. Following your retention plan ensures your newly aligned smile stays perfect for life.

Common Questions

FAQ's

How long does Invisalign® treatment take?

Treatment duration varies based on case complexity, but most patients complete therapy in 12-18 months. Minor corrections may take only 6-8 months, while more comprehensive cases might require 18-24 months. During your consultation, Dr. Samawi will provide a personalized timeline. Wearing your aligners as directed—20-22 hours daily—ensures you stay on schedule.

Yes, Invisalign® can effectively address many bite issues, including overbite, underbite, crossbite, and open bite. Advanced aligner technology, strategic attachments, and elastic wear can create the forces needed to correct bite alignment. However, some severe or complex bite problems may require traditional orthodontics. Dr. Samawi will evaluate your specific situation during the consultation.

Contact our office immediately if you lose or break an aligner. Depending on where you are in treatment and how long you’ve worn that set, we may recommend moving to your next set, reverting to your previous set, or ordering replacements. Keep your previous set of aligners as backup, and never go without aligners for extended periods, as teeth can shift quickly.

Most patients experience little to no speech impact with Invisalign®. Some people notice a slight lisp during the first few days of wearing new aligners, but this typically resolves within 2-3 days as your tongue adjusts. The aligners are thin and custom-fitted, so they don’t significantly alter mouth space or interfere with normal speech.

Invisalign® costs are comparable to traditional braces and vary based on treatment complexity and duration. Comprehensive treatment typically ranges from $3,500-$8,000, while Invisalign® Express for minor cases may cost $2,500-$4,000. Many dental insurance plans that cover orthodontics provide similar benefits for Invisalign® as for braces. We offer financing through CareCredit, Cherry, and HFD to make treatment affordable.
